Try Harder

Every time I try harder
I only seem to fail;
Tired and exhausted
Confused and quite pale…
Is there a reason to keep fighting
Like in an old heroic tale?
In a prison or captivity
A well guarded jail?

A neverending struggle
To seek light, to search for hope;
A meaningless effort;
Holding tight onto a rope.

Alas, o pain, my everlasting throe
A sore and a sorrow that never cease to grow.
