Two strangers in the night
Two strangers went out for a walk one night
Two strangers in the night
One had earphones on, blasting away with metal music
The other listened to her special kind of rock with the cell's speaker, perhaps wishing the world to Hear It to, listen to it to
Both of them focused, not on the walk, but in their minds, thinking about thinking while walking to the unknown
It wasn't their first stroll, probably not the last
Their silent pleas, roars, cries, cut the night like a butter knife on prime rib
All you need to do is open your eyes, all you should do is listen
But nothing
Two strangers went out for a walk one night
It was an ordinary night, same as every bitter trip they ever took
That night the two strangers passed each other in the darkness
One casual glance, hands almost touching, and you move on
Somehow they couldn't see it
Maybe they didn't want to admit it
They may never know… never realize they were both…
