Black Eyes- Chapter 2

Now you know why I’m in the hospital. I knew that Alex must survive and today’s evening we’ll go back to her house to celebrate her recovery. But something inside me was telling me over and over again not to get my hopes up. How can you say that! I told myself, but deep inside, I knew I was right.
After hours a doctor came out of the surgery room with a poker face, but I could feel something was wrong. After several long minutes a nurse came out and watch me with a shy yet confused face, until she came straight to me and got the courage to ask- ‘Are you Jade?’. ‘Yes’ I said. ‘Then you’d better follow me’
She led me to a tiny room with red curtains and a small computer on a desk. She gestured me to sit down. I did. And then, the big boom:
‘Look, Jade, you’ve been best friend with Alex since you were both born. And you may get this as big shock, that could damage your insanity, but, Alex is gone. Even before this surgery it was a lost case. Alex is never going to come back. And you must go on with your life. At the beginning it would be very hard for you, but with the time you’ll get over it. I’m very sorry Jade, but Alex is dead.’
