Prisoner of My Heart-Chapter 1: A New Beginning

It was a sunny day and there were no clouds in the sky, Oh sorry I forgot to introduce myself.
I'm Lily and I'm 17 years old, People think I am kind of weird but I don’t know why! Is it because I'm smart? Is it because I like to sing a lot? What is it?!?
The first day of 12th grade was wonderful! I started the day by saying hello to someone that wasn't even talking to me. Then it got even better!
I found out that I wore my shirt inside out and forgot to wear socks, but that doesn't matter now. It's the second day of school and its a little bit better, my friends Ryan and Susan finally came back after their summer school! I haven't seen them in months! As they walked through the gate I ran to them and gave them a huge hug, we got into the classroom and sat side by side. We talked and talked until the bell rang.
"Hello students" when I looked at the teacher I couldn't believe it.
"No fucking way!" I whispered to Susan.
"I can't believe it!" she whispered back.
"For those who don't know me, I'm your new teacher Roxanne." Roxanne was our math teacher for six years, EVERYONE hates her! The rest of the day rushed by and afterwards we went to Rayne’s house, done our homework and started talking.
“I heard that a new kid is coming to our class,” Rayne said.
“How do you know?” I asked him.
“I have my ways”. He said and we laughed.
“How do you think he’ll be like?” Susan asked.
“I don’t really know, but I do know his name” Ryan said “Mickey, I think.” he continued. My phone rang so I went out of the room to answer it.
“Hello, Lily?” I recognized the voice but couldn’t connect it to a face.
“Yes this is she” I said trying to remember who the owner of that voice is.
“It’s Roxanne, your teacher.” ‘WHAT?!?! How did she get my number?!?’ I screamed inside my head.
“Hello Roxanne, what can I help you with?” I asked as calmly as I could.
“I wanted to tell you that a new student is arriving to our class and I would like you to help his settle in.” She paused for a moment as I processed what she said.
“I don’t know what you mean Miss.” I said confused.
“Sit next to him in class lunch etc.” She explained, I wanted to refuse but I was too interested in knowing a new person
“What is his name, if I may ask Miss?”
“Mikel” Ryan wad almost right as usually.
“I will Miss, goodbye.” I hung up and went back inside the room.
“Who was it?” Susan asked in her funny British accent.
“My dad, he wanted to remind me that I’m staying at my mom’s place tonight.” My parents are divorced, so on one night I stay at my dad’s and the other at my mom’s. I don’t really like lying to Ryan and Susan, but I was afraid of their reaction.
“O.K” Ryan said and we continued our conversation, When it got late I went home and straight to bed.
